WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Troy A. Carter, Sr. (D-LA) and Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the bipartisan Freedom in School Cafeterias and Lunches (FISCAL) Act which requires schools to provide fluid milk substitutes in school cafeterias. This takes the onus off schoolchildren to request plant-based milk and instead places it on schools to give kids a real-time choice while they are in line to pick up food.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Troy A. Carter, Sr. (D-LA) led a coalition of Members of Congress in a letter to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Attorney General Pam Bondi. They expressed concern over the federal government's decision to dismiss the EPA lawsuit against Denka Performance Elastomer LLC (Denka) related to its neoprene manufacturing facility in Louisiana that emits chloroprene, a likely human carcinogen.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, Congressman Troy A. Carter, Sr. (D-LA) announced that Hyundai Steel Company will invest $5.8 billion in a new, next generation, state-of-the-art electric arc furnace-based steel production facility in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. This project will create approximately 1,300 direct, high-paying jobs, as well as over four thousand indirect jobs. It is also expected to generate revenues of $4.1 billion annually.
