Carter, Sr. (D-LA) and Congressman Garret Graves (R-LA) introduced their bipartisan legislation, the Offshore Parity Act of 2024 that will expand the state authority of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama in the Gulf of Mexico. Expanding state sovereignty in the Gulf would give Louisiana greater management authority over resources and their revenues, including energy and fisheries.
